On 24 March 2019 the Granfondo San Remo – San Remo, known as “la Classicissima” will take place on the day after the Milano – San Remo race of the professionals. Participants will be able to experience the thrill of great cycling, finishing the race along the same route as their heroes.
The Granfondo San Remo-San Remo “la Classicissima” will be an event unparalleled in the world of amateur and cicloturistica cycling: in fact on Sunday 24 March the participants in the Ligurian event will be able to follow the same final part of the race as the Milan – San Remo professional race, which takes place on the day before, Saturday 23.
The cyclists will therefore be able to personally experience all the excitement of the famous Spring Classic, the longest professional cycling competition in the world. The route of the Granfondo, 120 kilometers long, will cover an initial section transferring from San Remo towards Imperia, where it will move inland to climb up to Colle San Bartolomeo and then return downhill in view of the coast, to approach the final part of the course with the legendary climbs of the Cipressa and Poggio di Sanremo.
The event will start at 9.00 a.m from the Corso Garibaldi in San Remo, while the finish line is at the Poggio. The Granfondo competitors will reach then the town center of the City of Flowers till Corso Garibaldi and the Palafiori, logistic base of the organization, where the prize-giving and pasta party will take place.
